Both UPVC and aluminium are excellent upgrades over traditional wood or plain steel — the right choice depends on your priorities.

UPVC offers superior thermal and sound insulation because its multi-chambered profile traps air, making it ideal for bedrooms and street-facing rooms. It is also low maintenance and doesn't corrode or need repainting.
Aluminium is stronger per unit thickness, which allows slimmer frames and larger glass panels — a good fit for modern facades and commercial glazing. It conducts heat more than UPVC, so thermal-break aluminium is recommended for extreme climates.
Our advice: choose UPVC for residential comfort and insulation, and aluminium where you want larger openings or a sleek architectural look. We're happy to recommend the right fit after seeing your space.
